Everything in the case is gluten‑free.

Our whole kitchen is celiac-safe, with vegan options every day, and almost any custom cake options you can imagine.

Why we bake this way

For everyone who’s used to asking first.

Ridgway trained in kitchens and hospitality long before she thought about opening a bakery. What tipped it was closer to home. Her youngest can’t eat dairy or egg, and finding a bakery that could just say yes turned out to be almost impossible.

So we built this one back to front. The whole kitchen is gluten-free, which means no shared fryer, no dusted bench and none of that “it should be fine” hedging. Vegan and dairy-free sit right there in the case with everything else, and plenty of it is Alpha-Gal safe too.

As for the name: “Blue Bear” was her stepdaughter’s safe word when she was small. It stuck as a nickname, and eventually it went up above the door.

How we keep it safe

The important part, minus the jargon.

If you’ve got celiac disease or a serious allergy, you already know what to ask. So here are the answers before you have to.

Dedicated kitchen

The whole place is gluten-free. There’s no wheat flour on the premises at all, so there’s no shared equipment and no cross-contact to manage in the first place.

Vegan & dairy-free

They’re baked in the same gluten-free kitchen and sit in the same case as everything else. Ask at the counter and we’ll tell you exactly what you’re looking at.

Alpha-Gal safe options

We keep items that are safe for Alpha-Gal syndrome. Hardly any bakeries stock for it, so please do ask — we’re glad when people do.

Custom cakes

Birthdays, weddings and everything in between, built to the same standard and around whatever combination of restrictions your table actually has.

“I love accommodating people’s needs — and seeing them so excited to find things they can enjoy.”

Kind words

What people tell us at the counter.

“My 5 year old over the summer discovered she can not tolerate gluten. I went in the other day and got a chocolate chip cookie with icing and brownie bits on it, an upside down pizza and a vanilla cupcake. She loved it all. Couldn’t tell any of it was gluten free! I got teary eyed how happy she was. She hasn’t had a dessert she loved in months.”

“This is one of the best gluten free bakeries in the state. My wife has celiac and this is the best food she’s had. As someone who can eat gluten, the desserts are delicious and don’t have that gluten free taste.”

Tristan T. · via Google

“Absolutely AMAZING cakes!!!!! Can’t tell that they are gluten free at all!! And I super appreciate how they have their own kitchen where no cross contamination happens so I know my sister who has celiac will be safe eating their food. I ordered this a bit last minute and over a holiday weekend as well and they still were able to get it done for me.”

“We were immediately drawn to the oversized Tandy Cake, and it did not disappoint!!! The cake was moist, the chocolate rich, and with the drizzle of peanut butter sauce on top you’re transported to better childhood days. They have a large selection of gluten-free and vegan options.”

Joseph H. · via Google

“As usual, Bleu Bear is 100% amazing. It’s so rare to find a solid, consistent gluten free bakery and Bleu Bear hits its mark every time.”

Alisa D. · via Google

“Great vegan gluten free items. Reasonably priced. The young woman who took my order was very patient, nice, and helpful even though I wasn’t sure what I needed to order. I highly recommend this business.”
